Perry World House’s international security program focuses on the most pressing foreign affairs and security issues of the 21st century.

The last several years have changed the global security landscape in dramatic ways: a revanchist China seeing to reshape the international order in its favor; a full-scale war in Europe after Russia invaded Ukraine; a terror attack in Israel and the resulting war in Gaza; the consequences of advances in artificial intelligence and related technologies; and a changing political landscape in Iran.
Guided in part by Michael C. Horowitz, the program will connect Perry World House and the broader global affairs community on pressing international security issues through public programs, visitors, conferences, and workshops.
The international security program will focus on four thematic spaces: maritime security; the future of defense reform; strategic competition; and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and biotechnology.
